Benneydale NZ

Straddling the Hauhungaroa and Rangitoto Ranges between Lake Taupo and Te Kuiti, the Pureora Forest Park is a hidden wonderland of trees, rivers and wildlife.

Cycle or walk along an 85 km Timber Trail track winding through the Pureora Forest Park.

Situated near Waimiha is New Zealand's oldest steam timber mill, now an open-air museum providing a trip back in time.

The high-altitude informal country garden, Tapuwae Garden, is set amongst the most stunning rural scenery.

Dating back to the middle of the 17th century when Pureora was named by a Tohunga to mean "ritual of wellness", the Pureora Marae is located in a site thought to be the centre of the Southern Hemisphere.

During both the Winter and Summer Solstice, Benneydale is a hive of activity, hosting a country fair the last Sunday of every month over summer.
