The high-altitude informal country garden, Tapuwae Garden, is set amongst the most stunning rural scenery.
Started some 40 years ago, Tapuwae Garden boasts mature rhododendrons, camellias, magnolias, and cherries, to name a few, and is home to many of New Zealand's native birds and a number of peacocks.
Stroll through the gardens, explore the Arboretum and marvel at the Water Gardens. The grounds boast scenic views out to Mount Egmont and Mount Ruapehu on a clear day.
